Lucky winners from five nations win 24K gold bars in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi
October promotion continues ahead of Dh25 million grand prize draw next month
ABU DHABI – The golden run continues at Big Ticket Abu Dhabi as participants from the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka struck luck this week, winning 250-gram 24-karat gold bars in the latest weekly e-draw.
The announcement marks another glittering milestone in Big Ticket’s October promotion, which is already creating waves ahead of the Dh25 million grand prize draw scheduled for November 3.
Golden wins
Among this week’s lucky winners, UK expatriate Naia John saw her wedding dreams come true. Living in the UAE for the past five years, Naia purchased ticket number 017645 under the ‘buy two, get one free’ offer – a decision that turned into a golden surprise.
“This is the first time I’ve ever bought it early,” she told show host Richard during the live call. “I’m having a wedding in June and saw a dress I really wanted, but it was expensive. I thought maybe I’ll just buy a ticket and win — and then I can buy the dress I want.”
Her instinct proved right. The 250-gram gold bar win came just in time to fund her dream gown. “It’s all for me,” she laughed, still in disbelief. Her ticket will now go back into the drum for the Dh25 million grand prize next month.
Joining her in the gold winners’ circle was Amir Ali, a 41-year-old Pakistani grocery shop owner from Karachi, who has been living in Dubai with his family for the past decade. After years of participating in Big Ticket draws as part of a group, Amir decided to go solo this time – and it paid off.
“I’ve been buying tickets with friends since 2016. This month, I purchased early and thought I’d try my luck alone,” he shared. His solo ticket, number 052740, secured the 250-gram 24K gold bar. “When I got the call, I thought it was a promotion. I’m so happy and speechless — it’s unbelievable.”
Amir plans to keep the gold for investment and continue participating. “Big Ticket offers amazing opportunities, and I encourage everyone to try their luck,” he said.
The week’s other gold bar winners represent a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds – from a UAE national to long-time expatriates who joined group tickets with family, friends or colleagues.
A 39-year-old Emirati government employee in Abu Dhabi, identified only as A.A., also celebrated his win. “I actually missed the winning call, so I wasn’t even aware at first,” he said, laughing. “Nevertheless, a win is a win, and I am extremely thankful.” He plans to use his prize for a Maldives holiday.
From Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Nalim, a 63-year-old Sri Lankan banker who has lived abroad for 19 years, also secured a 250-gram gold bar. “When I got the call, I was in disbelief. But deep down, I always felt that one day I would win,” he said. Nalim plans to gift the gold to his wife, who will use it to make jewellery for their daughter.
Bangladeshi expat Mansur Ahmmad, 24, who has lived in Dubai for four years, also won after purchasing a ticket for the first time. “I formed a group of ten friends, and we decided to try our luck together. Imagine — our first time and we won!” he said.
Indian winners also shone bright this month. Ajith Samuel, a 44-year-old mechanical engineer from Kerala, and Vibin Vasudevan, a 37-year-old IT professional, both based in Dubai, celebrated group wins that brought joy to their circles. “We’ve been buying tickets every month without fail,” said Ajith. Vibin, who leads a 20-member gym group that purchases tickets monthly, added, “We were thrilled. This experience brought us even closer.”
Big Ticket jackpot
The string of gold bar wins follows September’s headline-making jackpot, where Bangladeshi expatriate Harun Sarder Nur Nobi Sarder, a private taxi driver in Sharjah, won Dh20 million in the 279th Big Ticket draw. Harun, who bought ticket number 035350 on September 14, said he plans to share the prize with ten others.
The same draw also saw participants from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan claim Dh50,000 each, while another Bangladeshi resident in Sharjah drove away in a new Range Rover Velar.
Now, all eyes are on the upcoming Dh25 million grand prize – the highlight of Big Ticket’s October series – to be announced during a live draw on November 3. Participants who buy two tickets between October 1 and 24 will automatically qualify for The Big Win Contest, giving four lucky winners the chance to join the live draw and win cash prizes of up to Dh150,000. The contest results will be announced on November 1 on the official Big Ticket website.
Adding to the excitement, participants in the Dream Car series will also have a shot at winning a Nissan Patrol on November 3 and a Maserati Grecale on December 3, making this festive season one of the most rewarding yet.
